« Here, tonight, we are happy. As His Excellency, Monsignor Isidore Battikha told us: "We are here to pray, to pray for unity."
Unity is inherent in each of us, it is also the Church’s desire. It is also a desire from Our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, as She requested it, here, in Damascus, amongst us. Because we are here to commemorate a Presence, the Presence of Our Mother. An ongoing Presence [...]
As we know, the Virgin Mary came here and talked to us, and asked us to work for unity. Certainly, as our dear Monsignor Isidore would say: "The Church is facing new horizons". We are approaching the year 2000, the year of the Great Jubilee. The pace towards unity is intensifying. We pray for this intention. We have come here, and we are impregnated with the certitude, the joy and hope which is a grace from God. And we are awaiting for this grace with total trust [...] »
