Religious procession with miraculous Icon of Mother of God of Kazan held today in Kazan

(Kazan, July 21, Tatar-inform, Irina Ignatyeva). A religious procession with the miraculous Icon has been held today – the day of commemoration of the Kazan Icon of Mother of God in Kazan. Believers from Tatarstan and the Russian regions as well as foreign pilgrims were present. Amongst the many pilgrims, Myrna Nazzour, a christian mystic from Syria was also present. Myrna has been travelling all over the world for the past 20 years spreading the Messages of Unity and Peace she has received.

Yesterday at the Church of the Exhultation of the Cross of the Holy Virgin Monastery, an all-night vigil took place. Afterwards, the Icon was moved to the Annunciation Cathedral of Kazan Kremlin. A solemn service has been held at the Cathedral today. All believers headed for religious procession in the streets of Kazan and then returned to the Church of the Exhultation of the Cross.

A group of pilgrims from Syria, including Myrna Nazzour, participated in the procession and plan to visit Raifa Monastery and Sviyazhsl island where they will meet with religious representatives of Kazan.

In interview with journalists Myrna Nazzour said that it is her first visit to Kazan with “our common Mother” – the Icon of Kazan Mother of God. The Mother of God chose this place to unite all Christians, Myrna Nazzour said. Kazan resembles Damascus to a certain extent, because here Muslims and Christians live in harmony and friendship.

Mrs Nazzour said she prayed to the Mother of God of Kazan Icon in 1993 when she was in Portugal. She recognized some of the people she had seen then. She was then invited to visit the city of Kazan and to pray and share with the faithful her mission of Christian Unity and Peace.
